1. That's not part of the design. That said, you are hitting a PackageKit
limitation nowadays, where it's not reporting very well its status in
ArchLinux. Improving ALPM support in PackageKit would improve your situation.
2. it's already possible, you can trigger such an action from the Settings mode
and with Ctrl+R.
3. Such information is not offered by PackageKit
Please next time open 1 bug report per issue, so it's easier to triage.
