I tried the same with old Ubuntu Studio 15.10 x64 USB stick (no-mode-set), and got different symptoms (than my Ubuntu Studio 15.10 x64 production PC): . rdesktop -g 1272x992 localhost # ok . launch kdenlive --> GUI never appears (kdenlive GUI works fine in local session) (My HW gots an AMD GPU, and oroduction PC includes proprietary AMD drivers).
