Bug ID: 495095 Summary: Clipboard content gets shared to phone on reconnect despite "automatically share" being disabled Classification: Applications Product: kdeconnect Version: 24.02.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: zocker.netw...@gmail.com CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY With "automatically share the clipboard from the device" in the plugin settings for my Android phone disabled, I still see the behavior, that when both devices reconnect, the clipboard content from the desktop gets shared to the Android phone, visible by the popup Android makes since Android 12. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Pair KDE Connect on a desktop with a phone (in my case Android) 2. Disable "automatically share the clipboard from the device" on the desktop for the phone. 3. When both devices are currently connected, verify that new clipboard content on the desktop does not get shared to the phone. 4. Now forcefully disconnect both devices. I go into the Android settings and force exit the KDE Connect app. 5. Reconnect both devices again. I open the KDE Connect app on Android again. OBSERVED RESULT The new clipboard content, which was not shared with the phone before is now shared to the phone. EXPECTED RESULT The clipboard content should only be shared when I press on the button to manually share it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: NixOS 24.05 (Linux 6.6.46) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I know that I’m potentially using an old KDE Connect version, due to the NixOS stable release cycle. I will upgrade to a newer version in the near future & if I find some spare time, I will check again if this issue is still there. I want to report this anyway because the issue was not reported before & because this might not be just a inconvenience but also a security issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
