SUMMARY
Been lowkey using digiKam for years. No problems.
Today, it would not populate images or thumbnails for new sub-directories in
defined collections. The “monitor for external changes” is checked. Nothing
defined in “ignored directories.”
I gave up and trashed my local collection and redefined it. But not a single
photo or thumbnail will resolve anymore.
Issue came up on digiKam Version 8.4.0.
I updated to digiKam Version 8.5.0. Restarted. Problem persists.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start digiKam
2. Define a local collection
3. Notice that nothing happens.
OBSERVED RESULT
I get a "scanning from <defined directory>" popup that perpetually says 0%
complete. Let it sit for 6 hours...no progress.
Only photos that were previously in the "trash" resolve.
EXPECTED RESULT
I'd like to see the photo thumbnails in my Albums.
