Bug ID: 496810 Summary: feature to create a quick fit plot Classification: Applications Product: LabPlot2 Version: 2.11.1 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: frontend Assignee: alexander.se...@web.de Reporter: uwesto...@web.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 176204 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=176204&action=edit screencast with MagicPlot My daily task is to deal with sensor data. Thus all my data have errors. In many cases I have to fit the data. non-linear curve fitting is therefore my almost daily routine I once came to LabPlot, QtiPlot, MagicPlot etc. while searching for an alternative to Origin. Therefore allow me to open this feature request because this feature was why I once purchased MagicPlot and still use it for my private things: Quick fit plots. The aim is to get a curve fit as quick as possible: 1. dragging in a CSV file 2. select the columns of interest and create a plot that also opens the fitting UI Attached is a screencast how this works in MagicPlot (can even be improved). This is an important feature for me because as it is it takes very long as currently in LabPlot the workflow is: 1. select a column and set it as y-error 2. create a plot 3. in the plot make it a marker plot (no lines to later see the fit) 4. add the error bars 5. create the fit plot 6. in the fit UI select the y-error again So there are many steps and I have to specify the y-error 3 times. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
