Hello!
My name's Ritchie. I have recently joined up with the KDE e.V. as an
Accessibility Engineer, and wanted to formally introduce myself on the
mailing list.
I am 23-year-old a legally blind programmer and game developer. I
taught myself to program at the age of 10 after my diagnosis, as
computers became an extremely important part of my life. Gamedev is
how I express myself creatively, but software accessibility is
extremely important to me.
I use KDE Plasma on my daily system as I find it to be the best
desktop environment to use with my vision loss. Kwin is currently the
best implementation of a screen magnifier on multiple monitors,
including compared to proprietary tools.
Some of you may have already seen me on the KDE Matrix, and on KDE
Invent working on Kwin, NeoChat, KTextEditor, and my own KCM for
gaming mice. I intend to continue that work, and to improve general
accessibility across all of KDE.
I likely won't be directly active on this mailing list, because email
is not the most accessible for me. I am however reachable on Matrix
(@ritchie:matrix.acidiclight.dev <http://matrix.acidiclight.dev>) in
the KDE rooms if anyone would like to say hi.
See you guys around!
