It's been a month since I sent this out - did I miss any replies, or is
this still a white patch on our map? ;-)

Subject: stuck without default environment (/opt/dtbld/lib/cbe-env/ empty)?

Hi,

as indicated in my previous email, I just installed CBEenv - what I didn't
tell you was that I removed KBEenv just before.

Now I did
. /opt/dtbld/bin/env.sh

and got this output:

Desktop CBE version 1.7.0 built on 2008-08-20 by adridg at benedict
Unsetting GTK_RC_FILES
Unsetting WINDOWID
Unsetting XTERM_SHELL
...
Unsetting LC_CTYPE
Unsetting G_BROKEN_FILENAMES
ERROR: Default CBE environment missing

oops!

some digging in the script above shows me that an empty
/opt/dtbld/lib/cbe-env/ causes this.

Since I removed KBEenv, I can't even go back to compare .. hmm.

I'll probably be able to cobble something together from my screen
scrollback buffer, but I guess that's not really intended.

Ideas? comments? RTFMs?

Michael
