Yes, it should work fine, and we have 3.4.3 that I run on sparc now.

Would be good to get a sparc build going also, I'm not sure if Stefan has 
done that yet, I doubt. But it will be here, for certain.

Xorg, and other large components won't be quite so easy.

I think it's safe to say they'll have MySQL support on sparc...;-)
