My machine is definitely booting the amd64 kernel, yet uname -p still reports i386. This doesn't seem like a reliable way to determine 32 vs 64 bit in pkgtool and pkgbuild, yet it is currently used in both. Could we switch to an environmental variable (maybe $ARCH)? I keep getting build errors due to it mixing 32 and 64 bit builds.
