a point to consider (I know it's rather late for that ...): currently, the (Open)Solaris *kernel* doesn't build with SS12, but still needs SS11 with patches. I don't know about a timeline when this will be fixed. All this means that there may be a path conflict on machines that are intended to build the kernel and KDE as well - I don't know whether that's an issue, but maybe you want to make this specific setting configurable... > I would not touch /usr, eveyrthing will be in /opt.
