On OSOL, we suppose that the SUNWgnome-spell version of enchant works and is newer than what we have:
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Enchant 1.5.0) versus @(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Enchant 1.3.0) however, the SUNWgnome-spell version has plugins (ispell, myspell) that use Cstd -- and that's incompatible with us, which leads to startup crashes in most KDE applications. Post-hoc installation of FOSSenchant fixes that. I don't know whether that needs fixing on other supported platforms (or indeed on post- nv128a OSOL). [ade]
