I've added a target 'fix-legacy' that goes through and edits /var/sadm/ files 
to 
make the SysV version reflect the IPS version of installed packages. It uses a 
python script tools/fix-sysv.pl to get to the pkg(5) API and then spits out a 
bunch of sed(1) commands which you can run as root. Yucky, but it gets the job 
done if you're upgrading packages regularly (which, in the current state of 
IPS building and KDE stability, probably isn't a good idea).
