Sort of.  The intention here is to establish an identity for a software 
source.  A publisher is just the identity of a person, group, or 
organisation that provides software.  A package repository is just a 
place package data is stored.

However, by removing the choice from the user, we can ensure that there 
is a consistent identity.  In the near future, the client will allow you 
to provide your own local alias that you can use in place of the 
publisher's official identity.

Actually, it's "-p", not "-g".
