I think you missed the point -- its a design/UI flaw to have 6 ambiguous
choices.

Why would you want to better document a design flaw -- to provide excuses for
the developer(s) or to help the user avoid confusion?
It seems to me a better design helps everyone by speeding the user on his way
and not bogging the developer down in documentation.
