Hello: My name Bill Silagi and I have questions about Theme xml file. I have different distros (MEPIS, PClinuxOS, Mandriva, Suse, Fedora) installed on my PC and all use KDE. I tried to change the login screen (greetings) and this
lead me to Theme file with it associated xml file. I know little about xml and looking around got your file "Detailed file to out and in again. How the file in a browser with some kind of style sheet ? I already contacted your Description of Theme XML format". Now I roughly I knew how it works and started to play with it. Modified it and logging out and back again I could see the result (some time lock up). Since I a technical person it left me with many questions. How this file gets interpreted and with what program to get the login screen ?.? I know XML file can not be displayed alone eve in the browser it needs some kind of style sheet or whatever . I know kdm file is called at start up it uses the kdmrc file but it must be a program inside kdm which interprets ( and how does it ?) this xml file to get the login screen. It would be nice to know this program so one? could experiment with the xml file without logging? out and in again. How the KDE people test the kdm file do they log out and in again ?.? Is a way to display this xml file in a browser using some kind of style sheet ?? I contacted your XML expert? but his opinion was this is KDE related and does not know to much about KDE. Did I missed something on the KDE site or I looked in the wrong place ?. I would appreciate to give me the right direction I know it would help other people also.
