Ah, menu items. Code that is connected to aboutToShow will always execute after popup() is called, so delaying the call to popup() can't possibly help, unless I'm missing something. Sounds like we just need a hook, like a signal emitted by this class, with a pointer to the menu, so that applications can inject more items before popup() is called.
