A replacement approach, which dispenses with RSync in favour of checksums, tarballs of binaries, and atomic file replacement is at https://cgit.kde.org/scratch/bcooksley/ci-tooling.git/ I haven't had time to finish some of the Jenkins side of things though so it can't be deployed yet i'm afraid.
