In UPDATING there _are_ more detailed instructions ;-)

By The Way - it is better to say

portupgrade -O \*kde\* instead of 
portupgrade -O kde\* (seen in UPDATING)

Or: Better say 

pkg_delete \*kde\* instead of 
pkg_delete kde\*

For example:

de-kde-i18n-3.4.0   German messages and documentation for KDE3

does not match "kde\*"
