KDevelop just doesn't try very hard to accomodate unusual setups (and from the KDevelop's developers POV, FreeBSD is just plain weird and they have close to zero interest in accomodating it). Of course it's highly dependent on the language module, too, there are probably projects where autotools aren't even used. On the other hand, nobody in KDE/FreeBSD (including me) cares very much - even the KDE developers here don't actually use KDevelop for development. Possible things to try to make the port work better out of the box: Depend on the devel/gnu-auto*, devel/gnu-libtool ports (those are unprefixed) instead of the prefixed ones (and nuke the half-working patches to used the prefixed ones), then find out what still doesn't work and patch the project templates templates accordingly. This could involve pretty extensive patching and will involve pretty extensive testing - if you'd like to give it a shot, by all means go ahead and post the patches here, we'll be happy to include them in the port. -- ,_, | Michael Nottebrock | [EMAIL PROTECTED] (/^ ^\) | FreeBSD - The Power to Serve | http://www.freebsd.org \u/ | K Desktop Environment on FreeBSD | http://freebsd.kde.org
