I have just freshly installed 5.4 release and notice the following:
1) The login sound plays a few seconds after the splash screen has disappeared (i.e seems delayed).
2) noatun hangs when attempting to play steamed mp3s (e.g www.di.fm), and locks up the sound system. However, it will play local filesystem mp3s ok.
The system is a Tyan s1854 (es 1373 sound). the audio system seems to be functional (e.g. xmms plays streamed mp3s ok), hence I suspect a kde problem.
For clarity, here are the system configs I have to enable sound, plus the relevant dmesg line:
kernel: device sound
boot/loader.conf snd_es137x_load="YES"
dmesg: pcm0: <AudioPCI ES1373-B> port 0xe800-0xe83f irq 5 at device 14.0 on pci0 pcm0: <Unknown AC97 Codec (id = 0x0d504e53)>
any ideas?
Mark
P.s : In 5.3 this all worked fine, looking at my old kernel config file I noticed an additional device -
device sbc
I might try adding it and rebuilding the kernel....
