Dear Core Team, I am trying to install kde3 from ports by simply typing "make install" from /usr/ports/x11/kde3. However, I left it compiling overnight and was greeted with a prompt the next morning (to choose some detail for the compile/installation).
During the kdegames portion, I noticed an option to install without prompts, but it flashed by too quickly and scroll lock; page-up could not retrieve the text. There appears to be a switch to take all modules and also a switch to exclude specific modules. How can I find out what these magic switches are? There was no README in the ports directory as suggested for general installation in Chapter 4 of the FreeBSD installation guide. In fact, I don't see any README in any port directory. Please advise, because I'm sure I will be greeted with another prompt tomorrow morning and I'd rather interrupt the build, set the switch, then continue the build without prompts. If I recall, the general FreeBSD install also suffers from the same prompt annoyance in the middle of an install (after you think you started an install with your preferences). Regards. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
