Looks like a genuine KDM bug for what it's worth, best file a bug against KDM 
at http://bugs.kde.org and report the number it gets assigned here so we can 
track it.

Whoever gets assigned to work on the bug will probably give you instructions 
on how to help debugging the problem, but since KDM is crashing with a 
segmentation fault it would be good if you'd recompile and reinstall kdebase 
with make -DWANT_KDE_DEBUG, then run kdm in gdb, get a backtrace of the crash 
and attach that backtrace to the bugreport right away.
