"kdebase-3.5" may just not compile as long as "kdelibs-3.4.3" is installed; this probably is part of the reason for the entry in "UPDATING".
Okay, I'm afraid of deleting kdebase (with -f, force) upgrade all other kde stuff, und after that installing kdebase fails.
You can make a backup copy using "pkg_create -b". Check "man pkg_create" for details.
