In the semi-distant future (say, about 3 months), KDE will probably switch to 
CMake as the build system. *Probably*. There's still some arguing going on, 
but none of the other candidates is under development at all, so ...

In any case, when that switch happens, KDE will require CMake version 2.3 or 
newer (that's the current development branch, though I believe stuff will be 
backported into the 2.2.4 release, upcoming). In that timeframe, we will need 
to have the CMake port updated in order to get KDE porting done at all. 
Consider this a "HEADS UP" before I file an actual PR requesting such an 
update (since the CMake port now installs 2.0.something).
