I asked for comments on this port almost exactly one year ago and only got 
(negative) feedback from Jose Rodriguez at that time, which is why I did not 
make it a default runtime dependency of kdebase. Integration of other 
XDG-apps really does not seem to be that high in demand either, given that 
this is the first time the question ever came up.
