Hi,

I'm having a problem accessing MSN via kopete.
It was working and then stopped. I am assuming
I did something on my end to break this as it was
once working well, although I am beginning to
question this as I have taken many steps to correct
the problem. None of my steps have worked.

I am able to connect to my MSN account via
another machine which is running MS Windows XP. :(

I first posted to the kopete-devel@ list on 04/17/06 19:14 and
received some very helpful feedback (thanks all). The kopete
developers are quite busy getting ready for the 0.12
release (as I'm sure you all are as well). Perhaps there
is something I'm missing on the FreeBSD side. If so
I don't know what it could be.

I am running:

FreeBSD dwpc.dwlabs.ca 6.1-RC FreeBSD 6.1-RC #0: Wed Apr 12 04:27:29 ADT 2006 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/DWPC-KERNEL i386

dwpc@ /home/duane>kopete --version
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.2
Kopete: 0.11.1

Here are the steps I have taken:

Some of the things I have tried in addition to upgrading my ports skeleton,
upgrading FreeBSD, and upgrading KDE, have been:

1)reverted to FreeBSD 6.0 RELEASE GENERIC kernel

2)deleted /home/duane/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and then restarted kopete
and re-input my MSN account info

3)deleted /tmp/kde*, /tmp/ICE*

4)deleted /home/duane/DCOP*, /home/duane/ICE*

I was hoping after I reinstalled KDE via portupgrade -rRv x11/KDE3
that everything would have been fixed.

I then followed the advice of Bartosz Fabianowski
from the kopete-devel@ list and recompiled kde-net
with debug info.

Here are the links to my kopete debug output, kopeterc,
kde-net build, and my kernel configuration.

http://www.dwlabs.ca/kopeterc
http://www.dwlabs.ca/kdenetwork3

This line in the kopete debug output seemed
relevant to me but I don't know if it is or
how to proceed.

kopete (msn): [void MSNSecureLoginHandler::slotLoginServerReceived(KIO::Job*)]
The process for the https://nexus.passport.com protocol died unexpectedly.

I'm really starting to miss using kopete so if anyone
can help I'd really appreciate it. If there is anything
else I need to do please let me know.

Sincerely,

Duane Whitty
