Hello,

I have recently taken an interest in designing a KDE/FreeBSD based operating system. The thing is, I have plans of opening up a mail order custom PC company (sort of like Dell, only better :P ), but I refuse to ship my computers with Windows pre-installed. The other option would be Linux, but I have yet to come across a practical version of Linux that will suit even the most "computer illiterate" person. My solution is to simply to create a new OS based on the UNIX platform. I know zero code or how to even start to build an operating system, but I feel that I can design the UI with no problems (since I am a graphics designer).

The main idea behind this new OS is to have a UNIX based OS that can run Windows applications "out of the box". My thinking is to maybe have Wine integrated into the OS somehow, but you guys would know more than I.

If anyone is interested in creating this OS, please e-mail me back.

Thanks,

Karel Felipe
