There's various bits-and-pieces used by other applications to integrate with
the global menu, and that's probably what's breaking this up:

  - https://launchpad.net/libdbusmenu for gtk applications, maybe
  - libappindicator
  - LibreOffice has its own special thing

So it is largely a matter of "something is missing but we don't know what
exactly".

In theory, I'd like it for Firefox however (a) I doubt that it will happen (see for example <https://discord.com/channels/727023752348434432/831066226074976267/848514886618316830>); and (b) I'd not benefit from it (I use the menu bar of Firefox for more than just menus).
