There will be no consumer deprecations unless such consumer is actually old and broken and unmaintained. There are a number of actively maintained upstream projects that are not particularly great at keeping up with Python packaging changes. News simply does not travel very fast in the greater Python ecosystem. (In reply to Max Brazhnikov from comment #121) Without something laid out in comment 99, the list of affected ports cannot be known in advance, and thus cannot notify individual maintainers until it happens.
