That was in scratchbox, not on the phone. I still wait for the postman ;) Ah, I have not looked close enough: Unpacking mysql-server-5.0 (from .../mysql- server-5.0_5.0.89-1maemo9_armel.deb) ... addgroup: Only root may add a user or group to the system. dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql- server-5.0_5.0.89-1maemo9_armel.deb (--unpack): subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 So I guess I needed to become root previously. Interesting that I may still install packages without being full root. Or this is just a scratchbox issue because it runs as unpriviliged user at the end? > > -too bad that there are no packages for X86 so I could try them out with > > Xephyr... > > We are working to set up a Tree Packager (*) and got problems because of > Scratchbox instabilities. > * http://wald.intevation.org/projects/treepkg/ > > > -I thought that a KDE installation without KGpg is bad so wanted to see > > if I could compile that for ARMEL. I "only" need the headers of kdepimlibs and kdelibs AFAIK. You could try to build kdeutils to see if something is missing ;) I just looked for "kdepimlibs-devel" package which seems to not exist. Maybe they are just called different? Where would the headers usually be installed to? Eike
