Ok, at least something is working now ;) I upgraded (without cleaning my config this time). The startup takes long (known issue) but there is no clean way to switch to another application in this time as the usual desktop/programs button of the N900 is not shown. I then got an error message (log is attached), but afterwards everything worked as good or bad as with the first packages. The bug that sub-sub-folders show no content at all is fixed, I now see the message lists in all folders. Bug 247563 is still there (i.e. I can't see any mail bodys) so the applications is more or less worthless :(( I then played a bit with email identities. Configuring a signature is completely unusable as the widget only have a height of some 5 pixels, no chance to type in a usable text there at all. Besides my IMAP account I have 2 local accounts, both empty, both of unknown origin. When I try to mark a mail as unread the user interface is scewed: -switch out the menu, select "mark as" -menu disappears -switch it out again to see it went into the submenu and waits for action -click "mark as unread". It looks like nothing happens -if you switch away the menu you see the mail is indeed now unread again I don't know if this is a general Qt problem or a KDE specific one: the space button in the email input fields should automatically insert an @ since spaces in email addresses are forbidden anyway. This is the way e.g. the phone number input in the maemo contacts application works. Also "capitalize first letter" should be deactivated for email widgets as it doesn't make any sense at all. For me it starts to come to a usable state. Still not there, put there is some progress already. Too late to play with it on vacation, but my wife will probably like that ;) I still don't know why I always have bad luck with the message display. Eike
