Yes, in my opinion, these are both better solutions then using git submodule or a simple script, and then having to build everything separately. I'm still interested in using cmake's export functionality, since this would replicate the experience of developing and building kdegraphics in a unified SVN module (with dependency tracking, installing-all-at-once and all that).
