Mm. It's not really adequately specified either in the Telepathy spec or the XMPP RFC how xa is supposed to be used. However, I think of it as "away, but has been like that for a long time". Perhaps it shouldn't be user selectable at all (matching Empathy not showing it), but instead used automatically when the user hasn't changed their presence status or initiated any communication in a LONG time (like many hours), except perhaps if they've explicitly last set dnd/busy? IN addition to any other auto-away or auto-idle code we may have, which'd set away/idle in a few minutes or so.
