Hi.

ESET Smart Security blocks access to
http://winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/installer/kdewin-installer-gui-0.9.3-3.exe
because it claims the file can be 'a variant of Win32/Statik
application'. I'm guessing it's a false positive and should be
reported to ESET as such?

Checked it with http://www.viruschief.com/ and found no problems: http://www.viruschief.com/report.html?report_id=1f975da127990c61af67946562b16a97d79ee5a7

The executable is a static one, packed with upx - for some scanners that's enough to block the executable ... :(
May be we could release an uncompressed version for those cases ?

I don't think this will work - every now and then (in the last time more often) a virus scanner thinks some important system libraries are infected and deletes them... :)
