erm, no.

I'm working with Kdenlive since 0.96 times, and there are only those projects that used the speed effect needed rework. I'm reusing parts of existing projects on a regular basis and what you say is probably your personal experience which I do not doubt. But it isn't my experience.

Many Kdenlive versions work with unique format compatibility for
projects. I often had to forget .kdenlive projects because of upgrading
Kdenlive software.

I think .kdenlive files should have a versioning scale, same as PDF or
ODF files have publicly. And this to be docummented.

Hi,

after finally upgrading my Kubuntu from 17.12 to 18.04, I'm now in
trouble: the stock 18.04 kdenlive is 17.12.3 and it does not correctly
load my 17.12.0d project: effects on clips are missing, such as
"distort" and "alpha operations". I've tried to install the master ppa
version instead, but this is impossible as the ppa master lacks the
required libmlt++3 and libmlt6.

What now?

(well, the 17.12.0d appimage still works)

Best regards,
Harald
