Summary: Unable to send messages to smtp server with authentification if login has @ (at) character Product: kio Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: smtp AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Version: Unbekannt (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-21-rt Steps to reproduce: 1. Configure a smtp server for outgoing messages which requires authentification (in kmail) 2. Use you e-mail-address as a login name for smtp authentification (it does not matter if this account or login name really exists) 3. try to send a mail with kmail using this outgoing smtp account Result: Error sending mail: smtp://john%40example.com:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:25/send?headers=0&from=john%40example.com&to=marta%40example.com&size=2413 Further investigation of the problem with tcpdump and lsof revealed that kio/smtp does not even try to connect to the server. It seems that the @ character prohibits it from trying. Other smtp accounts without @ characters in login names work well. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
