Upon restart though, the popup does not show any events, although all widgets options are still correct. After I disable and enable the PIM Events Plugin once, everything is back to normal. My guess is, either there is a bug in the Digital Clock widget which causes plugins to not actually be loaded upon restart or there is a race-condition between the PIM Event Plugin and akonadi/PIM maybe pushing events before the Digital Clock Widget or its PIM Events Plugin is ready.
