Joco <bcjjcrw...@liamekaens.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Platform|Debian testing |Kubuntu Packages --- Comment #5 from Joco <bcjjcrw...@liamekaens.com> --- Thank you for your speedy response, glad to hear that work is ongoing. Unfortunately I don't think the workaround will be successful - though very happy to be contradicted. I'm very new to Kontact/Kmail but I believe there are two ways to add mail accounts - within the Configure - Kontact window select Accounts and you then have an option to 'Add...' either 'Add Mail Account' or 'Custom Account' If you go for the first option 'Add Mail Account' then there is no option to choose the PLAIN authentication method - it simply takes you through to the previously posted dialogue which results in the error. With the second option 'Custom Account' - when you enter details of a Gmail account it greys out both the password and the authentication options. See attached screenshots. Again you are back to the previous error. I do use Google 2FA and have created an application specific password, but due to the above 'greying' out there is nowhere to enter this. My OS is Kubuntu 18.04 and Kontact is version 5.7.3. I suspect there will be no way for Gmail users to add accounts until the wider bug is corrected? Again thanks for your help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
