First, simply having an edit button is a one click solution, while the current solution would be to click the notification, and editing the event in a second step. Second, there are some issues, that are more Korganizer related, which make the "Edit the highlighted event in Korganizer" step cumbersome: * The highlighted event is barely visible to me. Can you see the highlighted event in the attached screenshot? For me that is only visible if multiple entries from the same calendar are next to each other. In this case I can see a slight color difference in direct comparison. * The details view (left part of the screenshot), which shows event details does not have an edit functionality as well. To conclude: I now have to search the event (e.g. in the agenda view) which matches the details view.
