Or can you try to start 'akonadiconsole' together with kaddressbook and let it run the same time as kaddressbook, and as soon as kaddressbook stops to work check whether akonadiconsole shows the same behavior? I suspect it might be some timeout in the connection to MySQL daemon or something like that...
