For me it looks like KMail deadlocks when viewing messages while resyncing resources, even if clicking on messages from other resources. In my case it was a resync of a Local KMail folders resource. After resyncing was done KMail displays all messages again, but very slowly, it takes up to a few seconds to view messages.
