Seeing this message, too, while clicking through folders in Akonadi Console.

1. click on a folder in "Browser" tab
2. See the debug messages for that resource in "Debugger"
3. wait for a "Unable to fetch item from backend" message box
--> Synchronization stops, folder remains empty.

Please see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293893, I think Akonadi should
become much more fault tolerant to be usable by normal users.
