Bug ID: 303461 Severity: major Version: unspecified Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: No ability to store a password in a similar way to KMail in KDE4.6 Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: hygro...@bigpond.net.au Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: config dialog Product: kmail2 This is not a bug as such. It seems to be the current design of KMail and I can find no other way of getting to the software designers. In KMail in KDE4.6, you have a small window which allows you to enter a password, the server address and you can ignore KWallet. You then save the lot and that's it. There seems no way of doing this very simple procedure in the latest version of KMail. You get caught in endless loops of KWallet (which I don't want to use), endless insertions of the password and while you can easily send a test email, you simply cannot get it back from the server. KMail in KDE4.6 is sheer simplicity itself to use....KMail in KDE4.8 is impossible.....or at least for me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Just try setting up an account without KWallet. 2.You cannot now store a password and you could do so in earlier versions. 3. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
