I have the same problem. And when kmail tries to open a message, in Akonadi
Console I see repeating lines like the following:
59985 MERGE (REMOTEID SILENT) 30 0 (\MimeType[message/rfc822]
"\\RemoteId[58496]" \SEEN) ()
59985 [UIDNEXT 150741 DATETIME "26-Aug-2014 17:45:44 +0000"]
59985 OK Merge completed
Sometimes waiting for a long time helps (the numbers in the begining of the
lines go up to 60000 and finally the message appears).
