Hi Tom,
Thanks for the response.

If you see the table 4.3 in the documentation link you referred, for postgreSQL
column, last row (configuration backend), it is mentioned as ?No?. Whereas it
is mentioned as ?yes? for MySQL.

Assuming this table is accurate, my question is, when will PostgreSQL database
support be added for configuration backend ?
Thanks,
Raja

This is a reasonably big feature with a substantial additional effort in the
testing department. We were not eager to implement it too soon. We wanted to
wait for feedback regarding MySQL and fix any possible architectural problems
with it. But MySQL CB has been out for a while now and no major issues were
reported.

I recall one other request for pgsql cb. Our team is likely to get into this
after we finish the current major problem we're tackling - multi-threading.
Sadly, the MT work moves forward slower than we initially hoped. It is crucial
to do it right.

I will not mention any specific dates. However, if more people ask for config
backend with Postgres, it's likely to see pgsql cb appear some time in the
second part in 2020. But don't hold your breath for it. It's quite likely that
customers may come in and request something else and we'll alter our plans.

As usual, things may move forward a bit faster if this gets dedicated funding
or a customer requesting it specifically. But there's only so much we can do
with reshuffling priorities. So... if you need it a lot, please tell our sales
dept about it.

Hope that helps,
Tomek
