To anyone who has opinions on the perfect client interface layer:
I am in the wonderful / horrible position of actually looking at making a decision on a long term universal client for a long term client.
- Struts (current)
- JSF (best hype)
- Cocoon (Michael's favorite?)
- some fat client such as swing or swt, or even Eclipse itself.
- Some Other.....?
Considerations
- Toolability,
- Maintability by less than brilliant coders, (none are familiar with even html, much less xml or some other variants)
- Drag and Drop - this may be a mandatory feature in all apps
- Would prefer to chose a client that looks the best 2 years from now too, not just today.
The beauty of Keel, of course, is that I get to decide. If only I had a better idea of what clients are really the best for an enterprise app that needs Drag and Drop.
So what are your opinions about the perfect client ? Does it offer drag and drop capabilities ? (DHTML and javascript, I think, makes this universal? Never done it in a browser before.)
