NEW DELHI - India's headline inflation slipped to 12.10% for the

industry ministry said today.
This is the third consecutive week that the inflation rate has
fallen week on week.
The fall in inflation rate, based on the wholesale price index, is
on
account of a high base effect.
In the week ended Aug 30, index for all commodities rose 0.2% to
240.8 from 240.3 a week earlier. In the corresponding week last year,
the index had risen 0.4% on week to 214.8.
The inflation rate was 3.72% in the year ago period.
