Source says Infosys not interested in hiring Lehman BPO staff

BANGALORE - Infosys Technologies is not interested in hiring the
staff of
Lehman Brothers' business process outsourcing unit or buying the
captive
facility, a source told NewsWire18 today.
Indian software bellwether is currently on a quiet period ahead of
its
Jul-Sep earnings announcement next month.
"What to do with people when there is no business," the source
said
referring to Lehman Brothers' filing for bankruptcy protection.
He was reacting to a television news report, which said Infosys
was
planning to hire the BPO staff of Lehman.
News reports say the captive facility employs about 2,500 people.
At 3:17 PM, Infosys shares were traded at 1,576.50 rupees, up
0.65% over
Tuesday's close.
