Equity Alert: Key European mkts dn on worry over US bailout plan
MUMBAI--3:20PM--Key European markets were down due to worries over
delays and dilution of the $700 bln financial bailout plan for
troubled U.S. firms.
Asian and European markets opened weak after U.S. Federal
regulators seized Washington Mutual Inc late Thursday and sold its
banking assets to JP Morgan Chase & Co for $1.9 bln.
UBS slid 3.3% and Woori Finance Holdings Co fell 7.5%. JPMorgan
Chase & Co fell 1.4% in German.
Wind-turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems slipped 4.9% after Morgan
Stanley cut rating on the stock.
