Inflation Update October 10, 2008
Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) for
the week ended September 27, 2008 decreased to 11.80% as compared to 11.99% a
week ago.
The Index for all commodities for the week decreased to
240.70 as compared to 241.00 in the previous week. The decrease in the WPI
Index is due to decrease in the prices of primary articles.
The wholesale price-based inflation was 3.36% during
the corresponding week last year.
